Dr. Sophia Norman earned her master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute, an APA-accredited university in Berkeley, California. Her background includes experience in university and high school counseling centers, outpatient clinics, and specialized training at the UCLA Rape Treatment Center, as well as research experience at UCSF laboratories. These experiences inform her thoughtful, person-centered approach to care and her belief that healing happens through curiosity, emotional honesty, and meaningful connection.
Her approach is grounded in psychodynamic and trauma-informed therapy, while also drawing from ACT, DBT, and somatic practices to support lasting change. In therapy, she helps clients explore their inner worlds, reconnect with disowned parts of themselves, and develop a more authentic relationship with who they are. She strives to create a space where people can show up as they are and move toward lives that feel more honest and sustainable.
Sophia frequently supports individuals navigating complex trauma, mood disorders, relational challenges, and major life transitions. She also works with teens to build self-compassion, learn tools that genuinely help with stress, and navigate the challenges of growing up in a high-pressure, comparison-driven world. She especially enjoys working with neurodivergent individuals and offers comprehensive evaluations for ADHD, learning disorders, autism, and mood concerns.
Outside of her practice, Sophia enjoys Pilates, escaping to the mountains, and searching for the best beaches. She values reflection, humor, and genuine connection—and brings this presence into her work.
