The Importance of Maternal Warmth

🌟Weekly Inspiration🌟

Hope that all the Moms enjoyed their Mother's Day 🌸.  What an important job, being a mother. What an absolute blessing and a challenge like no other! ❤️

In 2025, the American Psychological Association, published a study of over 2,200 identical twins that found that when mothers showed more warmth and affection during childhood (ages 5–10), their kids grew into young adults who were more open, conscientious, and agreeable—traits linked to lifelong success and well-being. Even small increases in maternal affection made a measurable difference.

The takeaway: Small acts of warmth—listening, hugging, showing interest—can shape your child’s future in powerful, lasting ways.Ask Yourself

Ask Yourself:

Was my own mother warm in her approach with me? How did her style affect me?
Am I naturally a warm mother?
Would my children say that I am warm?
What are my strengths as a mother? What are my weaknesses?
If I didn’t get what I needed as a child emotionally, how have I coped with that? Anything still that needs healing?
Any small shifts that I want to make?

Be well!
