Stillness
🌟Weekly Inspiration🌟
There is so much rushing, racing around, and doing at this time of year. Buy! Attend! Decorate! Send the cards! Bake! Wrap! Do!
It often feels like this is the way to create a magical holiday for our families. Some of it is fun. Some of it feels like a chore. It can be less enjoyable as kids get older and don't want to participate in the traditions they once relished as young children.
"I thought love meant action. I had no idea that love could be so still." —Kelly Corrigan
As parents, I think we sometimes miss opportunities because we are creating a lovely experience for our kids instead of just being with our kids. We are "doing" all the time and can totally miss the conversation, the giggle, or the connection. Let's not focus on the Instagram-able moments. This season, let's try to be present. Let's be more still.
Ask Yourself:
Am I rushing too much? Am I missing the people in front of me?
Am I having trouble transitioning from little kids to bigger kids and knowing how to engage them?
Am I grieving?
Has the season lost some magic?
Do I need to redefine what magic is?
Are there action items that I can ditch?
Am I uncomfortable with stillness? Can I stretch myself?
Be well. ❤️
