Home as Sanctuary
🌟Weekly Inspiration🌟
We are often more hunkered down in our homes in January, days are shorter and weather often keeps us indoors. It can be nice to feel cozy, warm, and mellow. As we look around, is it time to freshen up our surroundings? Make space so that we can see what we have and enjoy it? It can feel good to tidy, purge, organize, simplify, or deep clean. This is another way that we re-set.
It's another marker in family life, which clothes have the kids outgrown, which toys should we donate after the holiday season, and how can we make our space feel more organized and calming?
I am not a neat nick. In fact, one of my favorite coffee table books is entitled: A Perfectly Kept House is the Sign of a Misspent Life. But I do see the value in clearing out and making way for new. ❤️
Ask Yourself:
Is your home your sanctuary? What little shifts could make it feel more like that?
What makes my family feel cozy and snug?
Does our home feel emotionally safe? How could it feel more so?
How does clutter impact my mood? Does clutter reflect my internal state?
What would bring me and my family more joy in the home environment (candles, music, homemade cookies in the cookie jar)?
