Creating More Together
🌟Weekly Inspiration🌟
As the final LTWL in the January Re-Set series, let's consider this question:
"What do we want more of this year at home?"
This should be a fruitful discussion. A family that talks about what they want together has a great chance of getting what they want at home! Every voice counts. Ideas are welcome. Try to use it as a time to connect, not simply criticize what we don't like about home. If you come up with something great, post it on the fridge for all to be reminded.
From this conversation, a family could choose one shared Family Habit for 2026 (examples: screen-free dinners, family dog walks, Sunday homemade dessert, Taco Tuesdays, or reading together before bed). Get specific. Make it do-able. Make it fun. Get everyone on board. Create belonging in this process—"We are a family that reads together at night…We are a family that ____."
Check in periodically to see if you are on track with creating more of the good stuff together. ❤️
Ask Yourself:
Would I like to feel closer to my family this year?
Does intimacy scare me? Does too much joy make me nervous?
What do I want more of this year?
Can I tolerate the opinions of others in my household? Am I controlling?
How can I be a cheerleader in our family?
Can I heal some of my own childhood wounds by doing things intentionally with my current family?
